This is an old Zero Halliburton brief case I turned into a
command and control station for my robots. For control, the electronic heart of
the system is an IF 900Mhz digital robot controller. It is wired for human feed
back through a Saitek joystick and throttle system (by far the coolest joystick
on the market today). I re-engineered the mounts for both handles so that they
could be stowed in a closed case.
Video is displayed on an LCD borrowed from a play station
portable display I grabbed off eBay for $35.00. Video input comes from
selectable inputs either a 1.6GHz "spy cam" receiver or modified X-10 2.4GHz
home security camera system. Both recievers are mounted inside of the case
with external antenna connections.
The whole case is powered by a rechargeable 12v replacement
battery for a UPS.
It's turned out to be very handy in that it controls all of my
robots and it can be set up and stowed quickly. It saves space in the shop and
makes the whole system more portable and professional looking. I get allot of
comments. All those years watching James Bond paid off.

Do you think I could get it on a plane as a carry on? |
